Don & Jude Lesemann recently returned from two weeks in Haiti with Water Missions Intl, Charleston, SC.

They have previously served in Nigeria, Mexico, The Philippines and Haiti.

Water Missions Intl (WMI) sent us to Haiti for two weeks to work with the Haitian Country Director, Pierre Prinvil. Water Missions Intl has 22 Living Water Treatment Systems (LWTS) in Haiti. The above picture shows a LWTS in Cazales which was installed right after Hurricane Ike hit Haiti in 2008.

Our goals included:

  • Complete a project at Gorman with solar powered water pump and distribution, septic system and bathrooms for the Gorman Episcopal Grade School. The Gorman project was financed by Rotary International.

  • Check on WMI Living Water Treatment Systems in Cazale and Ballenger.

  • Replace a broken submersible pump in Petit Desdunes.

  • Install a new system in Massarant Preserve.

  • Take pictures of WMI projects, shoot video of testimonies of the benefits of the LWTS, and write an article about our experiences.
